I decided that I should keep people posted on the updates that happen on this site, and so this news page was created. Obviously updates before the coming-about of this page are not recorded, but I will try and record every update from now on ^-^ The updates are below, in descending order from newest to oldest.

13th June, 2010… Well, I finished a tutorial today on how to compress your game data and distribute your game to people, even if they don't have the RTP. Hopefully this will clear up some confusion as to how all the files in the project folder work and help people who want to send others their games for testing but aren't quite sure how to do it. Read it here.

3rd May, 2010… Hello there! Today I have managed to find some time and enthusiasm to write another scripting tutorial: a request which I should have done a month ago, really =P But anyway, it's here for you to have a look at. Hopefully you'll find it useful - it's a system whereby when the player reaches the gameover screen, a menu is shown and options are displayed allowing the player to either respawn from somewhere, go back to the title or shut down the game. There are two versions of the system: a more versatile one, which allows you to control the respawn position using in-game variables, and a less-versatile one that needs no modifying, that lets you respawn from the last place that you saved or loaded the game from.
I hope this is useful to some people! Take a look at the new tutorial here. Good luck!

7th March, 2010… Well, although it did take me a day longer than I expected, I have written a new tutorial for all of you guys: a nice little system that enables you to create a lantern that flickers using pictures and common events. So, take a look at my Flickering Lanterns tutorial! It also teaches a few techniques in Paint Shop Pro (they can be applied pretty easily to Photoshop too, I think) that you might find handy for your RPGs. Until soon, hopefully, see you!

5th March, 2010… Okay, I know that the lack of update over the last... four months! - has been nothing short of ridiculous, but I promise to make it up to you! I've had a lot of computer trouble recently; just before new year my hard disk failed, and I lot A LOT of stuff, so I've been recovering from that for quite a while - and then my site host got hacked and they had to change all the passwords for security reasons, and I had a little trouble with my new password and account for a few weeks, so, with one thing and another, it has been rather difficult to update!
However, excuses aside, I have a free weekend (a very rare occurence!) so I hope to do one or two more tutorials and get those posted for you all. I'll probably do some more work on the reference pages, because I think that those would be a good thing to start putting together. I also added a Donate button to the footer of my site, so if you're feeling generous, a little goes a long way! But obviously, all my tutorials and the help I offer here are still unconditionally free.
Well, I know it's stupidly late, but Happy New Year to everyone! Here's to a good one =)

22nd November, 2009… Firstly, I apologise profusely for not updating for what seems like forever. Life has been insanely busy over the last few weeks - even half term was busy! I promise I'll try and update more frequently from now on.
I have finished a tutorial today, and I plan to write some more before the day ends - but the first is my new Jumping tutorial, which is a neat little system that allows the character to jump. I need to write a mini tutorial that fixes a slight glitch with this, so I might do that now - but I am also beginning the huge project that is the reference appendices. I'm planning to write a dictionary of event commands, but rather than waiting until it's completely finished before uploading, I'm going to upload what I've got and keep adding to it as I go along.
I may write another update later, but until then, see you!

4th August, 2009… Sorry for the lack of updating over the last few weeks - but your patience is rewarded! For today I have written two tutorials to add onto the end of my Basic Eventing tutorials - but they should be useful for everyone. The first is all about Character Names, and the other is about Message Box Codes. I hope you find them useful. I also added my FAQ page, which is a little empty at the moment, but will fill up, I'm sure.

14th July, 2009… Today I'm actually working in my school to do some design work on the website, but I decided that updating my site would be a little more interesting (and probably more productive!). Mind you, the changes that I've made won't make much difference for you guys unless you view the site in Firefox (which, actually, is probably most of you!); I used a style sheet to make the little divides on the menu 1 pixel high, like they're supposed to be - so that looks a lot neater now! Don't despair, however, I will be writing some more tutorials soon (I have a long list of topics that I need to write about). Until then - see you soon!

3rd July, 2009… I know it's been a while; life has been manic with one thing and another! Sorry if you've been expecting a new tutorial, today's update is a little more on the technical side =P I spent nearly an hour scouring the net for ways to make my little dashed lines in the menu show up properly in Firefox; until now they've been 12 pixels high and looking rather ugly - so I managed, after much searching and cursing, to find a CSS method that made them work =) Seeing as most people view my site in Firefox, I guess it was kind of important to get that working ^-^ Now all I have to do is to paste the code snippet into every single .shtml page on the site O-o So until then, the menu may seem a little plain in Firefox =P Wish me luck!

7th June, 2009… Well, today I modified my Picture-Based Menu tutorial quite a bit; I left a couple of handy things out and I also wanted to make a demo and a new video - things which have taken me all morning! Well, anyway, I hope it's a little more coherent than before.

15th May, 2009… Finished another resourcing tutorial: my Non-Auto Autotiles. Take a look!

14th May, 2009… Honestly, I swear every new tutorial takes me longer than the last… =P Well, I have finished my newest tutorial on Extending Tilesets, so hopefully that should be helpful to quite a few people. I know that it's right at the bottom and after loads of tutorials that I haven't done yet, but it's the only place that it would fit, really. Anyway, I hope it's useful. I think that my next tutorial will be a tutorial on the specifications of character graphics, and then I'll have another go at writing some of my advanced eventing tutorials - maybe I'll even get the Breaking Bridge working - I had a wave of genius with Self Switches, but there's still a bug at the moment. Additionally, I have nearly fixed the problem with my Party-Switching Script, so when I can stop random classes throwing no method errors for no reason, I'll post the fixed version =P See you!

18th April, 2009… Phew! I've just been through every single html and shtml page by hand, changing all the image and relative paths from backslashes (\) to forward slashes (/), which I think was the reason for the images not showing up in Firefox. Well, it's taken me quite a while, but it's done now, and so hopefully those of you who have been wanting to view the site in Firefox but not been able to will be able to now. I also changed a couple of page titles that I'd overlooked when making the pages, but I don't think anyone will notice that =P See you soon!

29th March, 2009… What a busy week it's been! Well, I don't know how, but I found the time this weekend to write a request tutorial on how to make a picture-based menu, using a character select system as an example. It's a great thing to know how to do, and its techniques can be applied to a huge range of picture-based systems, so go and take a look! This tutorial also has a video demonstration in it, so I added that to the downloads page. I know it sounds like a small update, but that tutorial has taken be the best part of a day to write! =P Anyways, I hope you have a nice Easter break, wherever you are =)

14th March, 2009… I rearranged the Sitemap today so that it made more sense, and then I rearranged the menu to match - got to be consistent! Anyway, I'm a bit busy later on today, but hopefully I'll have some time tomorrow to do some more updating and writing of tutorials. I am hoping to get the Breaking Bridge tutorial and the Evented Title Screen tutorials finished next, and then I need to do some serious thinking about the Walking on Water and the Skill Sacrifice ones - they're really difficult! Anyways, I hope you have a nice weekend, whatever you're up to =)

11th March, 2009… Long time, no see! I'm sorry for not having updated for ages - again! - but school work has been piling up; I have a lot of exams soon and coursework deadlines are creeping up on me, not to mention drama productions and music exams… But that's all irrelevant stuff to what I really came here to write =P I've actually finished another tutorial: my Dashing Shoes tutorial that I've been meaning to do for a long time. It's quite cool, so have a look at that if you like. Next, I plan to do a Breaking Bridge tutorial, which was based on a request that I got - but it made quite a nice little system that would fit well into a tutorial, so I'll put that up for you all =) I am also going to do a tutorial on making an Evented Title Screen, which should be very useful for lots of people, expecially those who don't like scripting and want to customise their title screen.
Otherwise I have still been struggling to think of a subject for my Variables Extended tutorial, which desperately needs to be finished, and then there are also two other tutorials which have me completely stumped: a Walking on Water tutorial which involves some complicated work with terrain tags, and a Sacrifice Skill tutorial which needs some complex scripting work =P So, as always, I have my work cut out - but I like to be busy!
Well, it was nice to have the time to write a tutorial and a nice long update =) Hopefully I'll have time to write some more tutorials soon, but, until then, I'll be seeing you! ^_^

31st January, 2009… Well, it's been a while! I do apologise for the lack of updates over the last month - I have been a bit busy at school with mocks and all sorts of things, but that's out of the way now, so I should have more time to update. Today I have already fixed an error that meant that my automatic switches wouldn't work with a common events after starting a new game, which was the whole reason that I created that tutorial! However, I managed to find the problem and fix that speedily, so that's all fixed and correct now. Sorry if that's caused problems for anyone! Presently, I am writing a tutorial on how you can have an item in your inventory and it will automatically enable you to have special properties - for example, walking on water or through walls, etc. However, this is proving slightly more tricky than I first thought! However, with any luck, I'll have that finished by this afternoon, and then I can get on with some other tutorials that need doing… See you then! Oh - and, even though it's a bit late, Happy New Year to one and all =D

30th December, 2008… Today I've written my Automatic Switches tutorial which should be quite helpful to people who want to make systems where a switch is automatically when a new game is started. After discovering this technique, I'm bound to use it in some more tutorials, so have a look! I also fixed a duplicate target link that I found on one of my pages - I hate to think how long that's been there, annoying people! I'm going to start writing my mini-tutorial on random troops now, and I may or may not get that finished today, but it'll be done soon. After that, I plan to start writing some of my Advanced Database tutorials, which should be quite a challenge - but quite fun! See you soon ^_^

28th December, 2008… Today I did some work on the Event System tutorials and got the third one finished: my tutorial on Maps, Lists and Paper , so that should be quite handy. Next I plan to write the Dashing Shoes tutorial, and hopefully begin to write some of my advanced Database tutorials that involve making special skills and will even contain some scripting O-o So they should be quite exciting =P Well, I need to FTP this up onto the server, and after that I might start another tutorial, so I'll see you soon!

24th December, 2008… Well, I never thought I'd be doing an update on Christmas Eve, but there we go! I really wanted to get my resourcing tutorial finished - and I have, so that's up now. That's all I've done today really, so all that's left for me to do is to wish you a very Merry Christmas for tomorrow, and a Happy New Year, if I don't see you before ^-^

23rd December, 2008… Today I finished off the resourcing tutorials that I started yesterday and began the second one: Tilesets Advanced. It's coming on well, so that should be up on the site soon. When I've finished that, I'll FTP the stuff up so the site is actually updated =P I'm so bad for doing loads of work but not actually putting it up on the internet… See you soon!

22nd December, 2008… I'm actually writing this on the 23rd of December, but it's about yesterday's update, so… =P Yesterday I did some renaming and some sorting out of the site, and then I began on my graphic resourcing tutorials, which I have had a couple of people asking me about. I finished the foreword and the first one, so that should be quite useful.

23rd November, 2008…
Quite a large update today: I have finished my Day and Night System and modified my Random Weather tutorial so that you can base the entire system on common events and not have to paste an event on each map, which should be a lot better. I have also fixed some really stupid errors like links pointing to the wrong target and a couple of typos, which I can't believe I didn't notice! I apologise to anyone who has tried to download my Parallel Movement demo from the tutorial page and got through to my Cutscenes demo again =P I may do some more updating yet, so I might see you later!
Well, it is later now, and I have done a HUGE update - I've added a new section of tutorials to the site which you can mind on the menu or on the Sitemap, or you can even click here, for your convenience =) I've also completely re-written my Random Weather System tutorial because I found a much better way to do the events so that you didn't have to paste an event in every map. In addition (I've done a lot of work today!), I've planned out another new section called reference, where I am planning to put some Appendices on different things for you to look up things like the different codes for the button inputs and a dictionary of every event command, which should be quite useful - so I'll try and get those done soon. I also need to get my graphic resources tutorials done… See you soon! ^-^

13th November, 2008… It's been a very busy few weeks for me (it always is in the run-up to Christmas) - but I have managed to do an update! I received an e-mail from one of my site viewers who very kindly pointed out an error in my Party Switching script, which I have managed to fix. I have also added a couple more fixes and stuff, meaning that you don't have to change the font in each Window_ script (it just takes the default font name from the system) and some other stuff that should have been done ages ago =P Well, anyway, I have updated that, so sorry to anyone who has found that little bug annoying! I am also working on a major fix for the problem concerning the muddling of actors when cancelling a switch in battle, for which I might have to do quite a mega change of the script, but we'll see. If you would like to download v1.3 of my script pack, head over to the Downloads page. See you soon!

26th October, 2008… Just a quick update to tell you that I've added a link on the homepage to a site where you can get your hands on really cool free gifts like Xboxes, PS3s and iPods. It's just a cool thing that you can do if you're getting bored around this time of year when the weather is rubbish and stuff… Anyhow, have fun with it ^_^ There's a link here too, for your convenience =P

22nd October, 2008… Well, it's been a while! I have been doing some updating since I last wrote here, but, in my true fashion, I haven't actually written the news =P Anyway, I have fixed one of the bugs in my script pack and have started to work on getting the final one fixed - and then my script pack will be bug free! It's taken quite a long time… I'm afraid I won't be finishing that off today; I am home ill from school with the worst cold ever and so I don't feel like doing much work that needs a lot of concentration - but I might write a nice simple tutorial on how to do something =) Oh yeah - I also fixed the video on my Common Events and System, which had needed you to download a codec to view it. Hopefully that's fixed now, so sorry if that has caused anyone annoyances!

29th August, 2008… I have done lots more work on the site - adding tutorials, sorting out things and the like. Today I finished three tutorials - my Follow-On tutorial, my Parallel Move Routes tutorial, and my Branching for Positions tutorial, which is the extra part for the Parallel Move Routes tutorial. I hope you'll find these helpful! Tomorrow I'm about to start writing my Day and Night tutorial, and then I'll write some resourcing tutorials, I think, because these have been greyed out on my sitemap for far too long… =P
I've done a little re-ordering and uploading and other stuff that you probably won't notice. I'm going now, but I'm going to write some more tutorials tomorrow. See you then!

27th August, 2008… I've been doing a LOT of work on the site over the last few days, but I haven't updated! Bad me =P I've been doing a lot of work on my newest Advanced Eventing tutorial (the list keeps growing!) on background movement and follow-on systems, a.k.a using Set Move Route in special circumstances. I probably would have that tutorial finished if I didn't feel so tired and am now going to go to bed at half past nine… Anyway, I am still struggling with my Variables Extended tutorial - I really need to think of a system to illustrate the many uses of variables. I also added my Download page, which is a bit sparce at the moment, but it will soon fill up, I'm sure! Finally, I found another bug in my Party Switcher script so I will speedily remedy that oversight and get it sorted ASAP. When I finish work tomorrow I will have four more days to myself, and then it's back to school already O_o Final year though, so it won't be long before I am at college with longer holidays and more time to update! I hope you all had a nice Summer, wherever you are - despite the awful British weather. See you soon!

13th August, 2008… I've just acquired my own full copy of RPG Maker VX. If you ask for my views, personally, I think that, despite little bugs and maybe some restrictions, RMXP is still the best. But don't worry! I will keep on writing tutorials for RMXP and I might even start writing some tutorials for VX too, if I feel like it or I get specific requests.
With regard to site news, I've started writing another tutorial on extended variables, so that should be finished soon. I completed a Random Weather tutorial that should be quite helpful to one and all, and I also uploaded a video to demonstrate a transition better than the slow GIF animation that I had there before, in my Common Events and System tutorial, using my new video software. You never know - I might start doing video tutorials soon!

15th July, 2008… Have finally finished the fix for the distorted .png files. Took longer than I thought that I would! But still, it's done - so people with Internet Explorer 6 or lower can now browse the site without the annoying blue blackground to .png images (even if it does take a couple of seconds to kick in!). Hopefully now I can concentrate on getting some more tutorials written!

15th June, 2008… Was browsing the site on our newly-built PC which has Internet Explorer 6… and realised that the pngfix.js script was completely distorting my images O_o I am extremely sorry to anyone who has being trying to view this site with IE6! I've started work on fixing it right away, but as this entails going through everyone one of my 50 website pages and then putting in the width and height for every image on that page, it is going to be a very time-consuming process! But never fear - I will get it done very soon. In the meantime, I apologise to anyone who has been using IE6 in vain to view the site - you may have to use the old version of the site until I get the fix finished. Hopefully it will be done soon! ^_^

31st May, 2008… Wrote a Miscellaneous tutorial on how to make some very cool ghosts that randomly appear and disappear. Check it out!

30th May, 2008… Wrote another tutorial on how to change my script system to accomodate more players in the party. Check it out here. I also found a bug in my script O_o I fixed that and re-uploaded my script pack. Sorry if that has caused problems for anyone…

29th May, 2008… Finally finished my party-changing script and wrote a tutorial on how to install it. I am planning to write another tutorial tomorrow on how to edit it to get more than seven players in the party - so watch out for that too!

28th May, 2008… Made some adjustments and fixes here and there, like making sure the links at the bottom of my script fix tutorials were in working order. I'm working on quite a big script at the moment, but when that's finished, I'll be writing some more tutorials on eventing systems and the such. Oh - I also added some code to each of my pages which should fix the .png transparency problem for those of you with Internet Explorer 6 or lower - which means that you won't have to use the old version of the site anymore. However, if it doesn't work for some reason, you can find a link to the old version of the site here. I also added in some Google tracking code, but that won't make much difference to you =P

30th March, 2008… I finished the first of my Script Fix tutorials, so those should be helpful. I'm trying to think of some interesting tutorials to write, but I'm failing a bit! I also repaired the title image and sorted out some other things here and there. I'm off to write the second of my script fix tutorials now - so I'll be seeing you!

8th March, 2008… It's been quite a while - but I have done a pretty major update, which you will have noticed, even if you're not overly observant =) I hope you like the new design of the site - but if, like I say on the homepage, the .png transparency doesn't work, you can go back to the old version of the site instead. More tutorials coming soon - probably some more advanced eventing ones. Also, I'd like to hear from you! Request a tutorial that you would like to see on the site - perhaps something that you always forget how to do, or something that you find particularly tricky. As long as it is suitable and relevant, I'll do my best to write one ^-^

3rd December, 2007… Hmm… It's been a while, huh? Anyway, I've finished the Advanced Eventing tutorial on doors, so that should be quite handy. Also, I updated the site map so that the links weren't leading to nowhere, and I added my contact page. Quite a bit of work for two evenings!

18th August, 2007… Finished fixing the images and began putting together the first of the advanced eventing tutorials, so they will be finished soon ^_^

17th August, 2007… Fixed up all the tutorial images so that they look a bit better - just me being my usual perfectionist self! Mind you, it did take quite a long time…

4th August, 2007… Created this page. Now all updates will be recorded and posted up here.
